BITS is an organization that focuses on the belief that technology is quintessential in a professional environment. It helps members connect with other students who are interested in technology. BITS has connected me to employers that need employees with a wide range of technical knowledge. Being a member has also taught me many things that would bolster my career such as advanced excel knowledge and basic knowledge of Tableau and Python.

Association of Latino Professionals for America, February 2019-Present

ALPFAs is an organization that dedicates itself to uplifting the LatinX Community. It offers us workshops with employers such as Deloitte and Bloomberg. ALPFAs even teaches us to do successful in a professional environment. Being a member has already led to me making meaningful connections with a number of employers who I could potentially one day work for.

Students Helping Honduras, September 2019-Present

SHH has allowed me to help other communities in need. They aim to assist Honduras, which is the second poorest country in Latin America, by building schools that would benefit impoverished communities. We generate money through fundraisers like selling doughnuts or setting up a thrift store to sell used items. SHH even gives us the opportunity to travel to Honduras to assist in building the school for the children. I love SHH for their altruistic goal and for the meaningful connections it has created for me.
